Full Sail University Announces New Sports Marketing and Media Bachelor of Science Degree

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) November 16, 2010

Full Sail University (fullsail.edu) is proud to announce the launch of its new Sports Marketing and Media Bachelor of Science Degree Program, for which the curriculum will be available entirely online. The degree program is scheduled to enroll its first class in early 2011.

The Sports Marketing and Media Bachelor of Science Degree, a 32-month online program, was designed to help produce the next wave of valuable contributors and leaders by giving them the tools to create and control content necessary for use in the evolving sports industry. Students will develop and refine skills in modern marketing concepts and practices which have become increasingly crucial for communication, game operations, sponsorship and revenue generation throughout the various types of companies that comprise the sports business. Such companies include leagues, franchises, collegiate athletic departments, agencies, management companies, sports media outlets, and sponsors.

This degree addresses content creation by providing students with a balanced skill set of technical expertise and an understanding of successful design aesthetics and brand execution as it pertains to sports marketing. Students will also gain knowledge in core business and marketing concepts as they apply to sports media, business models, sports marketing and research, public relations, sports law and contracts, and licensing and intellectual property.

During the culmination of this collaborative, project-based online curriculum, the Sports Marketing Final Project course allows students to create and produce a targeted sports marketing campaign, by challenging them to address the evolving needs of progressive sports businesses with innovative marketing strategies.

Through the use of Full Sails online platform, students are able to gain access to course information 24 hours a day, while participating in an innovative way to interact with instructors and fellow students via the Internet. To further facilitate connectivity, Full Sail Sports Marketing and Media students will engage the curriculum through an Apple MacBook Pro which comes to them through Full Sails Project LaunchBox, and which serves as their personal workstation throughout their education and into their careers.

Recognizing the need for professionals in the sports industry who understand the new media landscape, Full Sail designed this degree to meet the needs of both the industry and the sports focused individual looking to build a lasting career, said Josh Mora, Program Director of the Sports Marketing and Media Bachelor of Science Degree. Full Sail University is at the forefront of providing experiential based learning for numerous entertainment fields, which now includes sports. As graduates from other Full Sail programs have previously realized success in the sports industry, we feel very well positioned to enter this space, and we are excited to announce this new and innovative degree program.

Times Square to get a Close Look at Consciousness Science When Video Brings Questions About the Mind, Physics, and Reality to Main Street

Petaluma, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2011

Millions of visitors to Times Square are in for a riveting encounter beginning today when the beguiling face of a child, blue and tattooed to represent multiple worldviews, fills a giant video screen to ask some of the most taboo questions studied by science.

Is there life after death? Do our thoughts have the power to heal? Can we see into the future? These are the questions that ignite scientific inquiry at one of the worlds most renowned yet relatively obscure consciousness research institutes. The Institute of Noetic Sciences(IONS) hopes they also will awe and inspire a large tourist population to inquire about consciousness research and to support its research and education programs.

"We need an emerging population of supporters to ensure our longevity and to help consciousness research continue to benefit future generations, said IONS' CEO Dr. Marilyn Schlitz. For information about supporting IONS, visit http://www.noetic.org.

IONS also expects the ads sponsorship by popular retailer Mens Wearhouse, together with massive public exposure, will help neutralize the taboo sentiment sometimes associated with consciousness research. To answer the video's questions about consciousness, IONS has set up a special website page and implemented a members' live talk teleseminar series.

The Times Square appearance is the second time in the last two years that IONS has gained widespread public exposure. Dan Browns best-selling novel "The Lost Symbol," published in September 2009, prominently features the organization and the benefits of consciousness science to social and humanitarian good.

Nudging the Tipping Point

We are at a tipping point in consciousness research, said Dr. Schlitz, a PhD anthropologist and social and behavioral psychologist. Research overwhelmingly supports a more universal belief system that includes mind-body interaction, emotional and intuitive intelligence, spiritual engagement, ancient cosmologies, and psychic insight. We have come to Times Square to nudge that tipping point toward a more profound beneficial influence on a culture seeking new hope for humanity, she said.

According to Dr. Schlitz, who, with her colleagues at IONS, pioneered consciousness research methods that adhere to standard research protocols, While science has explored the powers and potentials of consciousness for centuries, our research has gained legitimacy in the last few decades as real, tangible benefits have been applied to modern institutions like medicine, personal and mental health, social services, business, and sustainability efforts.

"At the same time, more people are better educated, social taboos are abating, the media is more democratic, and the public has unlimited access to information," she said. "These conditions translate into more scientists openly reporting their consciousness research, mainstream science journals publishing it, and traditional and emerging media feeding the publics increasing interest in it."

About 55 percent of Americans believe in the healing powers of the mind, and three quarters believe in at least one paranormal phenomenon - 41 percent citing extrasensory perception (ESP), according to a 2005 Gallup survey.

The 15-second video advertisement debuted today on the CBS 26 X 20 (570 square feet) Spectacular screen on Times Squares 42nd street. It will appear every hour for 18 hours for 90 days.

IONS Mysteries of Consciousness teleseminars series is for members who support the institute at the $ 10/month level and above. The live talks host consciousness science visionaries who explore transformational shifts in consciousness resulting from telepathy, extra sensory perception, precognition, spiritual intelligence, and remarkable experiences that lead ordinary people to perform extraordinary deeds.
